How to cite

If you use OpenNAOE in teaching, study, research or practice, please cite the version you used. Each book and tool is archived on Zenodo, each archived version with its own DOI, so that a citation refers to a fixed version of the text and results. Between archived versions the website may carry a book's dated corrections and a tool's newer versions, listed with their changes on the tool's page; a tool's run record names the version that produced the results.

A book

APA 7

Hannan, M. A. (2026). Hydrostatics & stability (Version 1.0). OpenNAOE. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23816840

BibTeX

@book{hannan_hydrostatics_stability,
  author    = {Hannan, Mohammed Abdul},
  title     = {Hydrostatics \& Stability},
  note      = {Version 1.0},
  publisher = {OpenNAOE},
  year      = {2026},
  doi       = {10.5281/zenodo.23816840},
  url       = {https://opennaoe.org/books/hydrostatics-stability/}
}

To refer to the book as a whole rather than to one version, use the DOI of all its versions, which always leads to the latest: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.23816839.

A chapter

In APA style, a single-author book is cited as a whole, and the chapter is named in the in-text citation, for example (Hannan, 2026, Chapter 4). In BibTeX:

BibTeX

@inbook{hannan_hs_ch04,
  author    = {Hannan, Mohammed Abdul},
  title     = {Hydrostatics \& Stability},
  chapter = {4, Initial stability and the metacentre},
  note      = {Version 1.0},
  publisher = {OpenNAOE},
  year      = {2026},
  doi       = {10.5281/zenodo.23816840}
}

Results obtained with a tool should be cited together with the run record written alongside them, which identifies the tool version and the inputs.

Where to find the citation

The citation of a book, for its current version and with the DOI of that release, is given above. The page of each tool gives the citation for its latest archived version, with the DOI of that version.
